The manifesto

We had the talent to build real AI. We chose this instead.

Orvoi began as an idea in the very fertile mind of a quiet guy. Against everyone's better judgment, the idea became THIS! The joke was simple: every AI startup promises a tool that's smarter, faster, and more capable than the last one. We wondered what would happen if a team put in the same amount of engineering effort and pointed it in exactly the wrong direction.

So we built twenty two of them. A summarizer that can't summarize. A translator that barely translates. A decision maker that can't decide. Each one works — the code runs, the button responds, the output appears — it's just that the output is confidently, spectacularly wrong.

We think there's something honest in that. Most AI products oversell certainty they don't have. Ours undersells it on purpose, right up front, in the name.
